Solo practitioner and member of the Second Department Appellate Division’s Assigned Law Guardian Panel with significant experience in litigation from beginning to end of a case [1]

Practice Areas:

Child Custody:

  1. Modification
  2. Visitation and custody for non-parents (grandparents, aunt/uncles etc)
  3. Interstate filings and modifications

Child Support:

  1. Modifying (downward and upward)
  2. Violations of support orders
  3. Spousal maintenance

Administrative Law:

  1. Unemployment insurance appeals
  2. Disability benefit appeals
  3. Employment law:
    1. Hostile work environment
    2. Good cause for resignation as grounds for benefit entitlement

Criminal defense, Orders of Protection, Family Offense cases and civil/criminal contempt proceedings:

  1. IDV court
  2. Family Offenses

New York State Appellate Practice:

  1. Family Court appeals
  2. Grounds including:
    1. 6th Amendment right to counsel/ ineffective assistance of counsel
    2. Infringement upon one’s protected 14th amendment procedural due process rights
    3. Evidentiary insufficiency
    4. Judicial impropriety in earlier proceeding
    5. Protected liberty parental right/liberty interest in their children
    6. 4th amendment search and seizure
    7. Prosecutorial misconduct

Employment law,  administrative law (article 78 proceedings), appellate practice and constitutional/civil rights law (limited solely to the family law arena)


[1]   The 18B panel provides effective representation to low income-level clients,  who otherwise could not hire a private attorney. This is not the same as pro-bono representation.A family court judge determines eligibility for 18-B assistance, and as a result I am unable to represent a client at not cost unless the court assigns me or I take the case pro-bono.
